Student (m/f/d) of Engineering Sciences, Technical Mathematics or Similar

For 20 years, GFaI's Graph Based Engineering Systems research group has been developing software and methods for modeling and optimizing energy systems. The research results have been continuously integrated into commercial software and successfully applied in practice. The TOP-Energy® software has now established as a standard tool for energy system analysis.

Your Tasks:

  • Support of mathematical energy system modeling with new optimization methods
  • and, depending on your expertise, support in the software development process, e.g., with
    • the modeling of energy systems (mapping of physical and technical relationships) with a focus on further optimization methods (robust optimization, multi-criteria optimization),
    • the creation of case studies and tutorials as well as evaluations and the further
    • participation in the software development process (including bug fixing, testing, documentation).

Your Profile:

  • You are pursuing a degree in engineering sciences, energy technology, technical mathematics, or a related field. Experience in modeling, simulation, or optimization is desirable.

You also have

  • interest and fun in software development processes and model building,
  • curiosity and passion for analyzing technical and mathematical relationships, and
  • a sound knowledge of energy technology or the willingness to learn its fundamentals.
